Our goal here is to help you minimize post-operative swelling and bruising, improve wound healing, limit scar appearance, help you have less pain and discomfort, promote repair and growth of tissues damaged by surgery, and protect the body from infection by enhancing the immune system defenses.
Let me begin with water, I can not stress how important it is to start drinking 8-10 8oz. glasses of water per day starting 2 weeks before surgery. Being well hydrated will help make you more comfortable during the time when you can have nothing by mouth as specified by your surgeon. This will also help flush out toxins in your body, especially after anesthesia, and other surgery drugs. You should continue the water after surgery for continued removal of these substances, as well as facilitating your healing. Water will also help reduce water retention which can make you unnecessarily uncomfortable at this time. Supplements, vitamins minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids have also been shown to be vital for preparing the body for surgery, and post op for a speedy recovery.
Diet
Increase the amount of high quality protein you consume in the weeks before as well as the weeks following surgery. Increasing your protein will help your body to do the work it needs to do, a lot more effectively and quickly. Select high quality protein such as chicken, fish and eggs and try to avoid greasy foods. If you are a vegetarian make sure you are meeting your protein needs, if not exceeding them.
Incorporate dark leafy greens into your meals the weeks before your surgery if you can, as well as in the weeks following your surgery. PROTOCOL FOR PRE-OP SURGERY
For a Speedy and Healthy Recovery
Three to four weeks prior to your surgery, (Protocol structured for each individual patient)
We suggest first starting a patient on a BIOTICS DETOX PROGRAM. Providing the patient is healthy, and that there aren't any contraindications with medications he or she may be taking. Biotics Detox Program CAN BE ANYWHERE FROM SEVEN TO TWENTY ONE DAYS DEPENDING ON THE PATIENT, AND HIS OR HER BODY'S NEEDS.
It is a great way to jump start the body into feeling healthier, more energetic, and ultimately more confident and in control of what their body's need are.
Our Detox program does not require, "fasting," foods are incorporated into this program. However, common food allergens are removed from the diet. The patient is given a booklet, with a reference guide of foods that are suggested.
Hidden allergen foods may include, foods including wheat, rye, oats, and barley, which are found in breads pastas, and other products from refined flour. A wheat allergy is one of the most common of all allergies, and is affecting more and more people with our modern dependence on a diet high in wheat. You can be living with a wheat allergy, and this is a great opportunity, (BIOTICS DETOX PROGRAM) to determine if you might have one. Most people who speak of a wheat allergy are referring to wheat intolerance. (GLUTAN INTOLERANCE)
Wheat intolerance is when you have difficulty digesting wheat, which may seem less important. It is a slower onset, but certainly involves the immune system.
Gluten Intolerance appears as chronic symptoms' like aching joints, gastrointestinal problems, depression, eczema, low blood iron levels and others.

Dairy - products are most likely to cause allergies. Yet, because adverse reaction to foods doesn't necessarily occur right after the consumption of these foods, sometimes occurring hours or even days after a dairy product has been eaten many people are uncertain as to which specific food may have triggered the unforeseen and unwanted symptoms.
Fat - foods high in fats and oils including peanuts, refined oils and shortening, by eliminating or reducing these types of fats it lessens the burden placed on your system.
AS MENTIONED ABOVE THERE IS A LIST OF FOODS IN THE BOOKLET THAT ARE HYPOALLERGENIC. THERE ARE MANY FOOD CHOICES TO KEEP THE PATIENT SATIATED WHILE ON THIS PROGRAM.
1) DEXTOX PROGRAM - Morning, 1 scoop of whey protein, (an isolated protein higher in protein than carbohydrates and fat. This is especially good for patients going into surgery, and recovering from surgery as well.)
2) NUTRACLEAR - Mix 2 scoops in with the whey, with water or a natural fruit juice. Shake briskly, a plastic shaker is provided for your convenience.

PROTOCOL FORPOST-OPERATIVE
For a Speedy and Healthy Recovery
On the day following your surgery, it is suggested to eat bland foods, chopped chicken in a broth, whey protein shake, and sugar free jello.
It is also suggested to continue eating the foods recommended on the DETOX PROGRAM. You should incorporate foods, such as dairy, and fats slowly back into your diet, "if at all." However, it is important to eat plenty of high biological protein, during the next six weeks.
SUPPLEMENTS AND WHEY PROTEIN SHAKES SHOULD BE CONTINUED FOR SIX WEEKS, FOLLOWING YOUR SURGERY. TAKE WITH WATER ON AN EMPY STOMACH. SUGGESTED DIET AND OTHER SUPPLEMENTS WILL BE EXPLAINED, FOR THE NEXT SIX WEEKS.
Second day - INTENZYME FORTE - Continue to take tablets as suggested for two weeks, since this will decrease swelling and bruising. Take 5 tablets every five hours for five days. (FIVE DAYS)
Sixth day - Take 5 tablets every eight hours for the next two weeks.
SIX WEEK DIET AND SUPPLEMENT PLAN
Second day - Post-Op Whey protein shake. (Morning)- Alternate eggs and other lean proteins, throughout the day. Drink plenty of filtered water, and eat vegetables and fruits throughout the day.

(3) FE-ZYME- A SOURCE OF ORGANICALLY COMBINED IRON, ZINC, AND B12. Take 1 with breakfast.
LUNCH- TAKE 1 BIO C PLUS 1000 WITH FOOD.
A follow up visit with Laurie should be made six weeks post-op for a reevaluation of on supplements and diet
